Zipcar to Move Corporate Headquarters to Boston
Zipcar’s headquarters will relocate from Cambridge, Mass. to Boston’s Innovation District in 2013.
Zipcar Chairman and CEO Scott Griffith reached an agreement with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to relocate Zipcar’s corporate headquarters to Boston’s Innovation District in 2013, according to an announcement on Dec. 5.
More than 200 employees will move to the new Boston offices, which will encompass six floors of the building.
“The six floor building will provide a great environment for our team of passionate and talented employees,” Griffith said. “Efficiency and sustainability are primary themes both in the design of our office space as well as the building's prime location.”
Zipcar car sharing spaces will also be located outside the building.
Margulies Perruzzi Architects has been selected to provide interior architecture and corporate design services. Cresa Boston, a real estate advisory firm, will provide brokerage and project management services for the new office.
Since 2000, Zipcar has been headquartered in Cambridge, Mass.
