Speed Auto Systems, a software platform, has added a mobile vehicle check-in and checkout process as part of its car rental software system.
Speed mCC is a mobile-based vehicle checkout and check-in system that operates as a stand-alone application to manage vehicle movement records, according to the company.
Car rental employees can maintain an accurate record of each vehicle without having to document it on paper. As a cloud-based application, all vehicle records can be accessed from any mobile device or computer, says the company. It’s also easy to use and requires minimum input.
When checking out a vehicle, a car rental agent scans the vehicle’s QR code through the mobile app. To get the customer’s information, the agent needs to scan the customer’s identification, including a passport, and it will auto-fill the required fields, according to the company. When a vehicle diagram appears on the screen, an agent can use the mark feature to identify any scratches or dents on the vehicle. The app will also allow agents to take photos of the vehicle. Lastly, an agent can take a customer’s signature on the mobile device.
When the vehicle returns, an agent first scans the vehicle and all the information will be auto-filled in the required fields, says the company. After scanning the vehicle, an agent can write any notes and take the customer’s signature on the device.
