Avis Car Rental announced on July 25 the availability of portable wireless network devices for rent at seven airport locations in Germany. The Wi-Fi devices allow car rental customers to simultaneously connect up to five mobile devices, including laptops, smartphones, tablets and video game consoles.

Starting at $10.50 per day, car renters can request to add the Wi-Fi service onto a reservation at the counter.

The devices are small enough to fit in a pocket so customers can also use them on-the-go.

They will be available for rent at Avis airport locations at Berlin Tegel, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Munich and Stuttgart airports.

"The Wi-Fi devices from Avis eliminate the traveler's need to search for Wi-Fi hotspots or face the inconvenience of weak Internet connections on mobile devices," said Larry De Shon, president of Avis Budget Group Europe, Middle East and Africa. "The Avis service is cheaper than the services offered by most hotels in Germany, so it's the perfect way for travelers to stay connected and keep in touch with friends and family."
