Avis Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Mexico Licensee
Avis Car Rental celebrates 50 years of providing rental services in Mexico.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary in Mexico, Avis Car Rental commemorated the occasion with a gala event at the Hotel St. Regis in Mexico City.
"Operating a business for 50 years is no small feat,” said Ronald L. Nelson, chairman and chief executive officer of Avis Budget Group. “It requires dedication, effort, hard work and professionalism at a superior level. Avis Mexico's ongoing commitment to the brand and to service excellence is commendable. We congratulate Avis Mexico's employees and management team on achieving this great milestone and thank them for helping to increase our share of cross-border travelers into this popular destination, one of our strategic priorities."
In 1963, Avis operations in Mexico started at the Hotel del Prado with a fleet of 25 vehicles. Today, Avis Mexico operates at more than 85 locations in 30 cities, serving customers at major airports and metropolitan locations in key commercial markets - Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Mexico City and Monterrey - as well as major tourism destinations, including Cancun, Cozumel, Los Cabos and Mazatlan.
Avis Mexico is an independently-owned and operated licensee of Avis Car Rental.
