A bear recently destroyed the interior of a rented Toyota Matrix just west of Blind River, Ontario after a door was left open and some French fries were left in a cup holder, Sault Ste. Marie News reports.

The bear, lured by the smell of the old fries, climbed into the car and somehow closed the door, trapping itself inside.

After munching on the fries, the bear tried to get out and set off the car alarm in the process.

Spooked by the noise, the bear then thrashed around in the car, ripping apart the dash, the door panels, the ceiling and the seats.

The police arrived and offered to shoot the bear through the window, but the woman who had rented the Toyota resisted. So an officer opened up the door and let the bear out, which ran off into the woods.
