BMW, Daimler Headquarter Joint Mobility Group in Berlin

In addition to their expansion in Berlin, the two companies also filed an application for permission to consolidate their existing mobility services with the European Commission.

Ca2go and DriveNow operates a total of 20,000 vehicles in 31 major international cities. By combining their services, the two partners are seeking to transform the economic sustainability of carsharing services.

BMW Group and Daimler AG announced yesterday that the headquarters for their joint mobility services, Car2go and DriveNow, will be based in Berlin.

The services offered through the joint venture will include: carsharing with Car2go and DriveNow; ride-hailing with Mytaxi, Chauffeur Privé, Clever Taxi, and Beat; parking with ParkNow and Parkmobile Group/Parkmobile LLC; EV charging with ChargeNow and Digital Charging Solutions; and multimodality with Moovel and ReachNow.

In addition to their expansion in Berlin, the two companies also filed an application for permission to consolidate their existing mobility services with the European Commission.

“Our vision is to create a major global player for seamless and intelligent connected mobility services together,” Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the board of management of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said in a statement. “As a hub for creativity and innovation, Berlin is exactly the right location for our plans.”

“With the ecosystem we are planning, we will create solutions for tomorrow's urban mobility: intelligent, seamlessly connected and available at the tap of a finger,” Harald Krüger, chairman of the board of management of BMW AG, said in a statement. “We believe this will improve quality of life in major cities.”
