With the rise in need for contactless rental solutions brought on by the pandemic, Budget Costa Rica announced a decision to adopt the Rent Centric self-service automation platform — the same technology used by Zipcar Costa Rica.
Zipcar, owned by Avis Budget Group, has used Rent Centric since 2015 for its car share platform. Budget now brings the same technology to 32 locations across the Central American country to automate its customer service interactions.
“We are extremely happy with our accomplishments and proven successes," Alex Aryafar, Rent Centric’s CTO, said. "Over the years, we have worked closely with Zipcar Costa Rica's operations at every level, to deliver not only a highly sophisticated, reliable automation platform, but one that also addresses nuances of the local environment, including language and integrations. Our experience delivering mature fully encompassing environment automation platforms, bolstering our customers' brands, have not remained unnoticed in the Latin American market and globally, from small startups to large corporate operations alike.”
"With the global emergency, we had to close several stations across the country," Paulo Vargas, general manager at Budget - Zipcar, added, "but with the technology infrastructure we have in place at Zipcar, that has allowed us to improve our presence and entrench our corporate brand. As expansion decisions are never made lightly, we reassessed possibilities with new efforts, and we were happy to conclude that our initial decisions many years ago was significantly forward thinking in the right place. We are very optimistic about the future and our lead position in our markets."
Budget has more than 85 employees and a fleet of over 1,000 units in Costa Rica, and was selected twice as the best Budget Rent a Car Licensee in Latin America.
