California Rental Car Safety Act Moves Forward
A rental car recall safety bill was approved by the California Senate judiciary committee and now moves forward to the Senate appropriations committee.
California Assembly Bill 753, known as the Raechel and Jacqueline Houck Auto Rental Car Safety Act, was approved by the Senate judiciary committee 4-1 on Tuesday. The bill passed the California House in May.
Introduced by Assemblymember Bill Monning, the bill would force car rental agencies to ground all vehicles under a safety recall until they are repaired.
The proposed legislation now moves to the Senate appropriations committee.
