With a theme of shared mobility and transit, the CarSharing Association (CSA) will host its fifth annual conference at the Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto on Sept. 16-17.

"The focus of this year's conference is on how shared mobility works with transit," said Kevin McLaughlin, conference host and president of Toronto car-sharing company AutoShare.

This conference will be an opportunity for car-share operators to meet transportation planners to explore the future of shared vehicles in mobility management, according to CSA.

"Car-sharing has become really mainstream in the last two years," said McLaughlin. "There's an explosion in new mobility ideas, including technology, but we're really focused on ethics, accountability and environmental impact."

Speakers will include keynote Ryan Chin, an MIT scientist, who will highlight his work on innovative vehicle technologies, including autonomous self-driving cars, and Susan Shaheen, a researcher on shared mobility, who will discuss the benefits of car-share to cities.

Founded in 2010, the CarSharing Association tries to maximize the environmental and social impact of the car-sharing industry. Members are located worldwide. For more information, visit www.carsharing.org.
