Florida Airport Location Manager Arrested for Theft of a Firearm
A Punta Gorda Airport branch manager for Hertz was arrested and charged with Grand Theft of a Firearm for stealing a handgun left behind in a rental car by a customer.
ABC 7 - My Sun Coast reported that a Punta Gorda Airport manager of a Hertz branch in Florida was arrested for stealing a handgun left inside a rental car by a customer after he confessed to police.
Douglas John Orr turned himself in after the Charlotte County Sherriff’s Office asked to speak to Orr. A renter had left the gun in a rental car, and Orr told the renter that he found the gun and turned it in to the sheriff’s office. But, there was no report of a handgun being turned in.
Orr was charged with Grand Theft of a Firearm. He posted a $2,500 bond at Charlotte County Jail and was released.
