New York -- The Cendant Corp. on July 10 received Federal Trade Commission approval for the company's $3.5 billion purchase of Galileo International. The FTC granted Cendant's request for an early end to a waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Act, according to Cendant.
Galileo is the second largest reservations system for travel agents. The largest is Sabre.
