London Gatwick Airport has partnered with carsharing startup Car & Away to offer a peer-to-peer car rental service to travelers, reported Crawley News 24.
Vehicle owners will be able to register their vehicle through the Gatwick parking website. Owners of small vehicles can expect to make up to $110 per week for renting out their cars, while larger vehicles could net twice the income.
Travelers interested in renting a car can search for vehicles on Rentalcars.com. Cars will be available for pickup at dedicated Car & Away parking spots in the South Terminal area.
All vehicles are fully insured and inspected by Car & Away, both before and after they are rented out. The company also installs Octo Telematics systems in each vehicle to monitor driving patterns.
