With lower rental thresholds required to achieve and retain status in its elite tiers, members only need seven rentals to qualify for Five Star and need 20 rentals for the President's Circle, according to Hertz.

Additionally, members can earn points on service purchases such as Hertz NeverLost, fuel, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and insurance coverage options, says Hertz. Also, members will earn triple points on qualifying rentals through April 15.

With improved technology, other benefits including viewing real-time point balance, checking e-statements with up to 24 months of activity and redeeming rewards during reservations.
