The Hertz Corp. has announced that the Hertz Certified Clean & Safe program is launching at 30 of its major airport locations across Europe.

This inspection program is Hertz’s new protocol for rental car maintenance and cleanliness, says the company. Once the vehicle is prepared and verified, a card with a 36-point checklist is signed by the representative and placed on the vehicle's steering column.

“At Hertz, we are committed to ensuring our vehicles are clean and safe before each rental,” said Michel Taride, Hertz International group president. “Our Certified Clean and Safe program is one of the steps we are taking to share our internal processes with our customers, providing them with an extra sense of security.”

The clean inspection includes door panels/pockets, dashboard and steering, front and back seats, glove compartment, inside and outside windows and mirrors, cup holders, console, odors and exterior, according to Hertz.

And the safe inspection includes the windshield and wipers, spare tire/tools, owner's manual, inside and outside lights, warning lights, tires and tread, AC and heater, seat belts, antenna and fuel.

Following its launch in Europe, this inspection program will now become international, says Hertz.
