Illinois Car Dealer Sells Former PT Cruiser Rentals for $1
A Chicago-area car dealership is offering one 2008 Chrysler Pacifica at full price and a second car, a used 2008 PT Cruiser from a rental fleet, for $1.
A dealer in Oak Lawn, Ill. has offered an incentive to get the five former rental PT Cruisers off the lot with an unusual promotion, reports the US News. If a customer buys a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica, he/she can get the 2008 PT Cruiser for $1.
The PT Cruisers, which normally run for $12,000 to $13,000, have about 10,000 miles on them.
According to CNN Money, floorplan loans, which car dealers take out on each new vehicle that is ordered from the automaker, become problematic the longer vehicles remain on the lot.
News reports indicate that sales for the Pacifica were down 90 percent in October compared to October 2007.
