The 2012 Auto Rental Summit starts on Monday, Oct. 29. For registrants and those still considering coming to the event, here are some last-minute questions and answers:
When does advance registration end?
Advance registration ends on Thursday, Oct. 25 at midnight, PST. After then, you must register on-site. Those that pre-register are automatically entered to win a complimentary hour-long strategic assessment from either Frontline Performance Group or Leslie Saunders: Benefits, Insurance and Training. On-site registration desk hours are Monday, Oct. 29, 1 p.m.-6 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 30, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

How do I get there from the airport?
The Hollywood Beach Marriott is 15 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport and 35 minutes from Miami Airport. For rental car discounts, click here.

When does the event start?
Auto Rental Summit starts on Monday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. with the opening address by Bob Barton, followed by Roundtables at 4:30. The Cocktail Reception with the exhibitors is from 6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. The conference continues on Tuesday, Oct. 30, opening at 7:30 a.m. for a breakfast with exhibitors. Where and when do I pick up my badge?
Badges can be picked up at the Salon Ballroom Pre-function area, just outside where the event will take place. Just follow the signs when you arrive at the hotel.
What are the details of the scavenger hunt?
During the reception on Monday night, attendees can participate in a scavenger hunt and win prizes. The scavenger hunt consists of a list of questions about exhibitors and other car rental operators. Participants are encouraged to ask exhibitors and other operators to find the answers to the questions. Use it as a good excuse to network with other attendees.

What’s this about a Hawaiian shirt?
The dress code is resort casual. On Monday, in keeping with the Summit’s tropical location, we’re asking attendees to wear Hawaiian shirts (or “island wear”) for the roundtables and the following reception.
Is there anything else to do on Monday night?
Grab a bite to eat at Latitudes Restaurant right at the hotel, and then join Chris Brown, executive editor of Auto Rental News at the Tiki Bar in the pool area for some extra networking. The bar will be open until 11 p.m. and drinks will be available for purchase. Look for Chris in his Hawaiian shirt!
Will the seminar slides be available after the Summit?
Content from the seminars will be included on a USB “flash” drive that will be mailed to all car rental operators in attendance. The flash drive will include the results of the survey of local market customers by the Frontline Performance Group, as well as extra data and information from the presenters, and relevant articles from Auto Rental News.
When will the winners of the Professional of the Year Awards be announced?
The three winners of the 2012 Professional of the Year Awards will be announced at the awards luncheon on Tuesday.
