Using Rent Centric’s self-service carsharing platform, Canadian-based Discount Car and Truck Rentals has launched an hourly truck and van rental service called Discount Self-Service.
The Rent Centric Self Service platform affords integrated management systems, telematics technology, and mobile applications. And in the case of Discount Car and Truck Rentals, Rent Centric provides integration with retail rental kiosks.

Discount’s customers are able access vehicle rentals on-demand — and also speak with live-reservation agents if needed — from any of the company’s numerous kiosks located at IKEA locations and other established retail outlets. Once a reservation is created, clients are able to instantly access the rental vehicle via their Discount mobile app.
“We’re proud to be partnered with Discount Car and Truck Rentals providing them strategic business automation capabilities with next generation, Car Rental 2.0, technology,” said Alex Aryafar, chief technology officer at Rent Centric.
Established in 1999, Rent Centric Inc. is a Toronto-based vehicle provisioning, car rental, self-service, car-share, and peer-to-peer management technology provider.
Angry car renters are storming social media, the mainstream media, and online ratings platforms to complain about charges they claim are either unfounded or excessive.
As a growing number of itineraries now feature segments with multiple transportation providers, car rental serves as a core mobility link in travel journeys.
