The UK startup Rentecarlo has launched a peer-to-peer car rental service, allowing car owners to rent out their vehicle.

According to an article by TechCrunch, the UK startup Rentecarlo launched a peer-to-peer car rental website. Car owners are now able to rent out their own vehicles when not in use.
The article reported that Rentecarlo co-founder and CEO Jacob Aleksander said he created the service in order to meet the growing demand for vehicle access rather than ownership and to reduce the number of cars on the street.
Car owners can list their car for rental on the site and set the rental price, plus upload a description and photos of the car, according to the article. Rentecarlo will handle required insurance and offers 24/7 road assistance in the event of a breakdown.
The site launched with more than 1,000 signups and almost 300 cars ready to be rented.
