Sixt AG will be presenting its comprehensive travel applications at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) 2010 in Barcelona. Sixt's current BlackBerry, iPhone, Android and mobile applications have been significantly improved with new and innovative features and are available for immediate download.

Together with BlackBerry, Sixt will present their latest version (1.2.0) for the Storm, Curve, Bold and Pearl. In addition to the current functions such as vehicle reservation and accessing rental information for a Sixt account, users can now also add comments and requests to their reservations, to be viewed by the rental location. The branch locator has also been revised to search for the closest Sixt location without a GPS signal.

On top of this, the popular Online Check-in was taken over by BlackBerry: With this feature customers can choose their rental car from the branch four hours before the start of rental, cutting out the need to go to the counter to collect the keys. Now they can simply collect the keys within seconds from our Quick- Check-In terminals which are already available to be used in numerous branches in Germany, as well as Nice in France and Manchester Airport in the UK.

Customers who do take advantage of the Online-Check-In service will automatically receive a free upgrade to the next vehicle group.

Just in time for the MWC a new "iSixt" application for the iPhone has been released onto the App store, expanding on already established functions such as booking from the large selection of cars and vans to hire within the Sixt fleet and the station search feature.

The new improvements include a route planner, user account maintenance and an improved search function. It is now easier and quicker to book a vehicle on the iPhone after significant improvements have been made to the reservation process, these features are also being rolled out for devices using Google's Android platform.

Customers, who do not have a Smartphone, can still place rental bookings by using their mobile or PDA to access the Sixt website. With access to the site you also can use the Online-Check In, allowing our customers to take advantage of Sixt's Services regardless of whether using a smart or regular mobile.
