Spain Remains Popular Easter Destination for UK Travelers
Car rental website Carhiremarket.com reports that 35% of its car rental travelers over the Easter holiday plan to visit Spain.
Data from Carehiremarket.com confirms that Spain remains the most popular car rental destination over the Easter holiday for British travelers, according to a Feb. 22 press release. From Mar. 31 to April 15, 35% of U.K. citizens renting a car through carhiremarket.com have booked to leave for Spain.
Other destinations listed in the top 10 compiled by carhiremarket.com include Italy, Cyprus and Portugal.
“With the recession biting, but holiday makers still wanting to beat the new year blues and book trips away, hiring a car close to home in Europe is a cost effective way to explore new destinations and popular scenic drives,” said Andrew Shorrock, product manager at carhiremarket.com. “A hire car in Barcelona could cost as little as £6 a day and until the end of February, there is up to 42% off car hire in several Spanish locations with carhiremarket.com in conjunction with Alamo.”
