Vietnam-based ride-hailing firm FastGo has expanded its service into Myanmar, the first Vietnamese ride-hailing company to expand its operations in a foreign market, according to the Myanmar Times

FastGo is attempting to reach 2 million users and 100,000 drivers in its first year of operations in the country. The Vietnamese firm will have to compete against local ride-hailing services such as Oway Ride, OK Taxi, and GetRide.

The app is also competing with Malaysia's Grab, which is the only other foreign-owned ride-hailing company operating in the country since the departure of Uber last year.

FastGo executives told the news source that the company is also looking to expand into the e-commerce and tourism markets.
