Advantage Announces Green Initiative
The car rental company's committed to running a 100 percent green fleet recently generated interest from attendees at the annual International Franchise Expo April 11-14 in Washington D.C.
Wearing a bright green shirt, Chairman Denny Hecker recently announced at the American Car Rental Show in Las Vegas that Advantage Rent A Car is committed to become the first major all-green car rental company in the United States.
“Our single ownership and nimble fleet size provides us the ability to make a commitment to reduce our carbon footprint in the United States,” Hecker says. “Advantage will offer its customers an environmentally friendly rental alternative, while trying to make a difference in the places where our customers live.”
Advantage has made the commitment to “green” 100 percent of its fleet over the next 24 months, subject to manufacturers’ assistance and vehicle availability.
Integral players in implementing the green fleet will be COO Mick Anselmo and VP of Fleet Operations Frank Dankovich.
