Avis Car Rental is celebrating more than 300,000 vehicle exchange/upgrade transactions for its Avis Preferred Select & Go, a vehicle selection service.

Launched in June 2012 and now available at top U.S. airport locations, Avis Preferred Select & Go allows frequent renters to select the vehicle that best fits their needs without having to visit the rental counter.

"Avis Preferred members are typically frequent business travelers who appreciate having control over their travel experience and saving time whenever possible," said Kristen Maloney, vice president of strategic customer leadership at Avis Budget Group. "Select & Go helps them do just that. We're pleased to celebrate this milestone, and we look forward to serving the car rental needs of Avis Preferred members in the future."

With Select & Go, Avis Preferred members can keep and drive away in their pre-assigned rental vehicle, exchange their car (at no additional charge) by selecting another one from the designated area or upgrade their vehicle for an additional charge by choosing a specialty car or SUV from the designated area, according to Avis. Then customers drive their selected vehicle to the exit gate and present a valid driver's license to the Avis representative. And then the rental checkout process is completed.
