CarTrawler, provider of car rental and mobility solutions to the global travel industry, announces Fabrizio Ruggiero will join its board of directors. Ruggiero brings 15 years of auto industry experience, including serving as CEO of Edenred Italia and former deputy CEO of the Europcar Group.
Ruggiero joins a board with travel, tech, and mobility executives like former British Airways CEO Willie Walsh and JetBlue co-founder David Barger. Over the past year, CarTrawler has partnered with Hopper, Uber, and Wizz Air and continues to expand its footprint in North America.
“With the changing dynamics of the travel industry — from vaccine mandates to supply chain concerns — CarTrawler is at a pivotal moment in its growth trajectory,” says Ruggiero. “There’s no better time to be part of a company like CarTrawler, and I’m looking forward to bringing my travel and car rental experience to the board as the company continues to raise the bar in delivering innovative technology to partners worldwide.”
“This is an ideal time for someone as passionate and experienced as Fabrizio to join our board,” says Cormac Barry, CEO of CarTrawler. “The strength of the recovery in the travel industry is gaining real momentum and car travel has never been so vital. Fabrizio has driven successful results throughout his career and his wealth of insight around e-commerce and customer engagement will be especially valuable in his role on CarTrawler’s board.”
