Getaround Raises $140M, Announces C-Suite Hires
The funding will be used to further develop the peer-to-peer rental company's contactless booking and pickup technology. C-suite hires include COO, CFO positions.

Peer-to-peer carsharing group Getaround launched its $140 million Series E financing round, the company announced. This round is being led by PeopleFund and also includes financing from Reinvent Capital, Menlo Ventures, SoftBank, Braemar Energy Ventures, and others.
The money raised from this round will help fund connected car technology research, expand partnerships, and improve offerings to users.
Getaround also added four new members to its executive branch:
Chief Operating Officer Dan Kim
Chief Financial Officer Laura Onopchenko
Vice President, People and Culture Tia Gordon
Vice President, Customer Experience Ruth Yankoupe
Additionally, the company announced that has designated Election Day as a paid holiday for employees.
