RentalMatics, a global telematics provider to the auto rental industry, has officially renewed its partnership with Europcar Iceland, which will deploy an advanced fleet management tool in the Nordic market.
As one of the largest and most prominent car hire providers in Iceland, Europcar was an early advocate of telematics technology and was RentalMatics’ first customer in the region in 2018. The company has since leveraged real-time data analysis and automation to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer experiences, while digitally transforming their car rental business.
"RentalMatics looks forward to delivering continued cost savings and improved fleet management to their growing operation," said Colm Brady, CEO and co-founder of RentalMatics, in a Feb. 23 news release. "Telematics has redefined industry standards. As true pioneers in the market, Europcar Iceland embodies forward-thinking innovation, making them an ideal partner for our evolving technology platform. We deeply value the strong relationship already established with Europcar Iceland."
The platform, for example, can notify drivers in Iceland of terrain conditions, such as the Highlands, that are unsuitable for their vehicle type, while they are en route. That minimizes the risk of breakdowns. It can also provide advance notice about severe weather conditions and guide drivers on preventing potential damage expenses.
Steingrímur Birgisson CEO of Europcar Iceland, added: "RentalMatics’ technology platform is an integral component of our operation, enabling us to manage our fleet with precision while also reducing risk. Through data analysis, we can deliver enhanced travel experiences for our customers."
