Uber Ends Rental Car Program for Drivers
The program, a partnership between Uber and Getaround, launched for drivers in San Francisco in May.
The decision to end Uber Rent comes a few weeks after Lime, a scooter-sharing company that partners with Uber, announced that it would start testing a carsharing service in Seattle.

Uber has ended Uber Rent, its program that lets drivers rent vehicles from within the Uber app, Quartz reports.
The program, a partnership between Uber and Getaround, launched for drivers in San Francisco in May. A Nov. 19 email to users notified them that Uber Rent would no longer be available as of Nov. 20.
In an email to Quartz, an Uber spokesperson said that the company had decided to stop operating its rental service to "think through the best way to offer Uber customers access to rentals in the Uber app." Uber reportedly is not ruling out offering a similar rental service in the future.
The decision to end Uber Rent comes a few weeks after Lime, a scooter-sharing company that partners with Uber, announced that it would start testing a carsharing service in Seattle.
However, Uber will continue its partnership with Getaround that allows Uber drivers to rent vehicles for $5 an hour.
