International car rental brand Green Motion announced today the launch of its "Thumbs Up to Face Masks" campaign.

As part of Green Motion's continued customer and staff COVID-19 protection measures, and in support of the protection of global travel, the rental brand is focusing on asking customers to take seriously the wearing of face masks when traveling.

"With growing evidence supporting the wearing of face masks to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Green Motion has led our industry in asking our valued customers to wear a face mask when collecting and returning their car, as part of our COVID-19 Shield Customer & Staff Safety Procedures," Green Motion Founder and CEO Richard Lowden said in a statement.

The COVID-19 Shield initiative included the introduction of perspex safety screens, automated hand sanitiser dispensers, social distancing measures, along with staff supporting PPE. In addition, Green Motion has introduced a standardized vehicle valeting and sanitisation process, giving customers further peace of mind that the vehicle they are renting is clean and safe.

Green Motion made it compulsory for all customers visiting its rental locations to wear a mask starting July 24.
