On-demand car service provider Virtuo announced in a statement the company's expansion in Europe, by offering its on-demand car rental service in Germany and Portugal, and adding five new cities in France, Spain, Italy, and the U.K.

Since its launch in 2016, Virtuo has opened in four European countries: France, Italy, Spain and the U.K. According to the statement, this expansion marks a new stage for the French tech 120 start-up and is accompanied by a fleet expansion and the gradual integration of compact vehicles and those that can accommodate up to seven people.

The home delivery service will also be available in these two capitals at launch. The Virtuo Delivered service allows customers to utilize contactless delivery and find their rental vehicle parked near their home. This service was launched in 2021 in London and Paris, has since expanded to six cities, and accounts for up to 30% of bookings, depending on the city.

"This expansion marks a new milestone for Virtuo," said Karim Kaddoura, co-founder of Virtuo. "We continue to grow our offering in Europe with the idea that car usage can be more responsible and become an on-demand service, like our music, or even food that is delivered to your home."
