Eco-conscious car rental brand Green Motion announced the signing of a new long-term Master Franchise agreement in Singapore, the Lion City. This new office will be located in downtown Singapore while supporting the Changi Airport, with an official location opening in December 2022.
With a population of nearly 6 million and pre-pandemic visitor levels of 19.2 million, Singapore is a major tourist and business destination, with Changi airport being the third largest in Asia after Hong Kong and Incheon in South Korea, according to Green Motion. Changi airport handled over 67 million passengers in 2019 and1.8 million visitors from 143 passenger ship visits into its ports. Green Motion notes the significance of this development for the APAC region for the company.
"This is a major milestone moment for the Green Motion brand with the opening of our latest location in Asia-Pacific being Singapore,” said Green Motion founder & CEO Richard Lowden. “It is an absolute honour to welcome Peter Tan along with his experienced team on what I am sure will be an amazing journey of success."
Peter Tan, TzeYong Lim, and Roger Yeo, with a combined 16 years of car rental experience, plan to start operations in mid-December. Within three to five years, they hope to have the largest choice of a full EV and hybrid fleet, the statement said.
