AutoUnion Car Rental Opens First Location in Spain
The extensive European franchise network sees much potential in the Spanish travel market.

AutoUnion’s new branch in Barcelona will provide customers with a seamless car rental service from a modern fleet that includes compact cars, SUVs, and premium models.

AutoUnion Car Rental, a growing European car rental brand, recently set up operations in Barcelona, Spain through a franchise partnership with ICONIQ RENT SL.
ICONIQ is an established fleet and travel services company based in Barcelona and is part of AVEX Automotive, a leading European remarketing company with offices in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Lisbon, and Barcelona.
The opening of the new flagship branch in Barcelona further reinforces AutoUnion’s strong international presence and furthers its long-term commitment to investing in key strategic markets.
"Spain represents immense potential for us," said Ljubomir Dragicevic, chief operating officer of AutoUnion Car Rental, in a June 24 news release. "Our partnership with ICONIQ RENT SL combines deep local expertise and our internationally proven operational model.”
AutoUnion strives to deliver distinct customer service and personalized experiences that build long-term relationships with corporate clients and leisure travelers, he added.

"After a successful market entry in Portugal with locations in Lisbon, Porto and Faro, we are bringing our expertise to Spain,” said Ricardo Melo Castro, CEO of ICONIQ RENT SL. The partnership aims for high standards in quality, digital convenience, and flexibility, he added.
AutoUnion Car Rental is headquartered in Athens, Greece, and has operated in the car rental business for more than 30 years. It provides rental cars at more than 1,000 locations through a strong franchise network.
