Sixt is continuing its expansion into Italy, starting on the island of Sardinia at the popular destinations of Cagliari and Olbia, the company announced.
The Germany-based rental car company offers its customers a special highlight on the sunny Mediterranean island: The entire rental fleet, from sporty convertibles to off-road SUVs, consists exclusively of high-quality equipped vehicles from BMW and MINI — a sign of the close partnership between the strong brands.
Sixt has opened its first Sardinian location in the airport of the capital city Cagliari in the island’s south, with Olbia in the north following in the next few days. These locations will keep customers mobile at two ideal starting points for exploring the countless sights of Sardinia by car, including the world cultural heritage site of Su Nuraxi, medieval Alghero, and the imposing Castelsardo. Sixt offers its services to travelers from various countries, as the island is not only very popular with locals and Italians, but also with travelers from Germany, France, Switzerland, and the U.K.
