SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Electric transportation company ZAP announced it has acquired a fleet of electric cars for future rental at various locations, including two sites on the main casino strip in Las Vegas.
ZAP, whose name is an acronym for "zero air pollution," has been a leader in electric transportation since 1994. Earlier this year, ZAP unveiled plans at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to introduce an array of electric vehicles for commercial applications.
ZAP CEO Steve Schneider said that the company's marketing plan emphasizes the rental market because customers can try ZAP's new vehicles as they are introduced.
"Now business travelers and tourists from around the world have an opportunity to evaluate ZAP vehicles for their daily transportation," Schneider said.
