12-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Attempts Second Rental Car Theft
The boy was caught in an attempt to allegedly steal a second rental car from Enterprise in Upper Darby, Pa., while the first stolen car was recovered in front of the boy's home.
The Delaware County Daily Times reported a 12-year-old boy was charged with theft, burglary and receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Upper Darby, Pa. on Feb. 8. The boy was caught when he attempted to take his second vehicle on Feb. 10.
Enterprise employees reported a 2011 Mazda CX-7 stolen on Feb. 9 when they discovered the vehicle and its keys were missing.
Then on Feb. 10, the Enterprise manager saw someone attempting to enter the building through a window on the surveillance system. The manager chased after the boy along with an Upper Darby policeman who saw the chase. The officer caught the boy and found the keys to the missing Mazda in his pocket. The Mazda was located in front of the boy’s house and he was released to his mother.
