Nine men, who stole luxury rental cars and sold them abroad using forged documents back in 2016, have been sentenced to jail, according to the Khaleej Times.
The men were caught in 2016 after police received complaints from rental car companies in Abu Dhabi and Dubai that the cars were never returned.
Police investigations discovered that the men rented the cars, forged customs documents with altered vehicle serial numbers, and sold the vehicles as new.
Prosecutors charged the men with theft and forging official documents. Three men received a sentence of 10 years, five received 3 years, and one received 1 year.
