Alamo Rent A Car is inviting Facebook users to dream big with its new Alamo® Ultimate Escape Sweepstakes on Facebook. Alamo Facebook fans can click on the "Make Your Escape" tab and create their Ultimate Escape to be entered to win $5,000 toward their dream vacation.

Launched July 15, the Alamo sweepstakes follows a recently released 2011 Summer Travel Intentions Survey that found that while 86 percent of survey respondents plan to take a vacation this summer, 70 percent said they have not yet booked a vacation.

"People are obviously thinking about their ultimate escape, and this is a fun way to plan that trip and even discover new vacation ideas," said Susan Madigan, director for the Alamo Rent A Car brand. "The best part is that someone is going to win $5,000 toward their dream vacation."

To enter the sweepstakes, Facebook users need to click the "like" button on the Alamo Facebook page, then click on the "Make Your Escape" tab in the left column. On the tab, users can develop their Ultimate Escape by selecting their favorite destination, hotel, car, activity and food. Users then can share their "Ultimate Escape" with others on their Facebook wall.

The Alamo Facebook sweepstakes also features an interactive instant-win game, with winners receiving prizes such as car rental vouchers and gas cards.

Alamo Facebook fans can enter once per day, and members of Alamo Insiders can enter twice per day. The simple process to become an Alamo Insider can be initiated on the Alamo Facebook page. Alamo Insiders who book through Alamo.com are guaranteed a 10 percent discount or more off retail rates.

The sweepstakes ends Aug. 29, 2011, and the grand prize winner will be selected at random on Aug. 30.
