America Car Rental to Offer SIM Cards on Rentals

Through a partnership with Awiwi Internet, all rental customers will be able to use SIM cards with mobile data while in Mexico.

The mobile data service begins on Nov. 15. The move makes America Car Rental the first rental company in Latin America to offer SIM cards for every rental.

America Car Rental announced a new partnership with Awiwi Internet to provide its customers with new and better car rental experiences. In this case, it means America Car Rental becomes the first car rental company in Latin America to offer mobile data SIM cards for every rental. This will allow customers to stay connected throughout their stay in Mexico.

Its customers will also be able to purchase one or several eSIMs with different packages and validity periods, adjusting to their travel needs.

"It is time to change the game in the car rental industry and let the customer fully live the ‘choose-your-own-path experience,” Rodrigo Solis, CEO, founder, and president of the company, stated. “Technological innovation is key to the growth of the industry; being pioneers in this area excites us and encourages us to continue looking for new ways to offer our customers the best rental experience.”

Cesar Faz, founder of Awiwi Internet, added: “Awiwi is the project of my life, I've dedicated many years of my life to make it happen, and I am pleased that with this merger, we mark a watershed within the car rental industry in America Latina".

This service will be available on Nov. 15, 2022.
