American Car Rental Association Names New Board Member

McKenzie Spalding, director of operations at Choice Auto Rental, is the newest member appointed to ACRA's board of directors.

The American Car Rental Association’s board of directors voted unanimously to appoint McKenzie Spalding of Choice Auto Rental as its newest board member.

McKenzie Spalding, director of operations at Choice Auto Rental, is the newest member appointed to ACRA's board of directors.

“Her enthusiasm and hard work ethic will benefit the car rental industry and ACRA in their lobbying efforts,” said Sharon Faulkner, executive director of ACRA. “She has already achieved the passage of non-steering legislation in her home state of Minnesota and campaigned against another increase in excise taxes levied against car rental. We look forward to working with her.”

Spalding currently serves as director of operations for Choice Auto Rental in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Choice Auto Rental focuses exclusively on insurance replacement rentals and meeting the needs of this specific customer. With added services, including the operation of a fleet of flatbed tow trucks, the company continues to offer innovative solutions to insurance companies and collision centers in Minnesota. 

Recently, she advocated on behalf of Minnesota’s consumers in need of a rental vehicle when involved in an insurance claim. In May 2011, Gov. Mark Dayton signed into law a bill that requires insurance companies to provide the following advisory to their customers: "Minnesota law gives you the right to choose any rental vehicle company, and prohibits me from requiring you to choose a particular vendor." 

Spalding serves on the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers – Minnesota’s Government Affairs Committee. She currently resides in Woodbury, Minn., with her husband Nicholas.
