Avis Budget Group Launches Partnership with Spirit Airlines

When renting from Avis Budget Group, Spirit Airlines’ frequent flier members can now save money on car rentals as well as earn airline miles.

Avis Budget Group Inc. today announced that it has signed a new partnership agreement with Spirit Airlines. Under the multi-year agreement, members of FREE SPIRIT, the carrier's frequent flier program, can save money when they rent from Avis Car Rental and Budget Car Rental, and will also have the opportunity to earn miles when renting at Avis and Budget locations around the world.

"Avis Budget Group is well-established in markets that Spirit Airlines currently serves and those that the carrier is interested in further penetrating," said Stephen Wright, vice president of global travel and partnerships, Avis Budget Group. "We're excited to launch this new partnership and look forward to attracting new customers and driving incremental inbound and outbound volume."

The new partnership agreement includes brand exposure and cross-marketing opportunities for each of the brands. For instance, Avis and Budget will be featured in FREE SPIRIT membership communications and will be listed as a partner on Spirit Airlines' official website, Spirit.com. Similarly, Spirit Airlines will be included in Avis and Budget e-mail communications and listed on the partner pages of Avis.com and Budget.com.

"This partnership with Avis Budget Group is yet another way we are saving customers money on travel while at the same time giving them even more opportunities to earn FREE SPIRIT miles good for award travel throughout Spirit's extensive network throughout the Americas," said Barry Biffle, chief marketing officer, Spirit Airlines.
