Avis Budget Group recently announced that Avis Rent A Car and Budget Rent A Car customers who rent in Canada can now obtain electronic rental receipts. Canada joins the United States, Australia and New Zealand in offering Avis and Budget customers the convenience of "e-Receipts," transaction records that are automatically emailed within 24 hours from the time of the vehicle's return.

"We are committed to providing technology innovations that save our customers time and enhance their rental experience," said Patric Siniscalchi, executive vice president of international operations at Avis Budget Group. "The popularity of e-Receipt in the United States led us to expand the service into other regions. Electronic receipts not only help Avis and Budget customers save time, they enhance convenience and simplify business expense reporting."

Customers will still receive a paper receipt at check-in. The e-Receipt service is available free of charge to customers with an email address in their rental profile and those that have used their Avis Wizard number at the time of rental.

Avis customers who do not have a rental profile but wish to receive an e-Receipt can do so by contacting Avis Customer Service at 800-352-7900. To create/update a rental profile, Avis customers should visit the "My Avis" section of avis.com (for U.S. residents) or avis.ca (for Canada residents).

Budget customers who wish to take advantage of the e-Receipt service must have an email address in their rental profile and must have used their Budget RapidRez number at the time of reservation. Budget customers who do not have a rental profile but wish to receive an e-Receipt can do so by contacting Budget Customer Service at 800-214-6094. To create/update a rental profile, Budget customers should visit budget.com (for U.S. and Canada residents).
