Avis Budget Group Inc. has announced that Arthur Orduna has been appointed as chief innovation officer, effective August 29.
In this newly established position, Orduna will be charged with working cross-functionally to deliver state-of-the-art solutions to keep pace with changing customer expectations and to drive sustained, profitable growth, according to the company. Orduna will report to Larry De Shon, Avis Budget's CEO.

"We see innovation as a key enabler for our future success,” said De Shon. “Arthur's role will be to foster a culture of innovation to strengthen our brands and drive our business forward."
Orduna most recently served as chief innovation officer for The ADT Corp. Prior to joining ADT, he was with Canoe Ventures, LLC, a joint venture founded by the top six U.S. cable companies, where he served as chief technology officer and then chief product officer.
Rental operators can now detect and act on speeding while vehicles are still on rent, thereby reducing fines, admin workload, vehicle wear, and safety risks.
The combination brings actionable vehicle insights into PurCo’s PurInspect platform, improving damage detection and operational efficiency for rental fleets.
LOR related to insurance claims overall continues to trend downward, but ongoing market and economic conditions could affect future results while the industry deals with staffing and productivity challenges.
