Avis Budget Group Inc. has received the Association of Women Travel Executives’ (AWTE) Company Award for its commitment to gender equality by encouraging female staff members to reach their potential.
"We are very proud to be recognized by AWTE for our diversity and inclusiveness efforts," said Larry De Shon, president, EMEA, Avis Budget Group. "We strongly believe that our success as an organization is a product of our commitment to diversity, and a reflection of the many contributions made by women on our teams."
The Company Award is presented to a company in the travel industry that has shown its support and commitment to equality on its board and within its management structure.
"The AWTE Company Award is a formal recognition of a business that demonstrates commitment to supporting women in the workplace,” said Barbro McAusland, chair, AWTE. “We were thrilled to have some excellent contenders for this year's coveted award, and we are delighted to have awarded it to Avis Budget for its exemplary attitude in providing a workplace in which women can thrive."
The award was announced at the AWTE's 60th anniversary event at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square in July.
