Avis Car Rental released its latest mobile application for Android phones. The free app allows customers to make reservations at Avis neighborhood or airport locations throughout the U.S. and Canada from their smartphone.
Once a reservation has been made, users can view their purchase, make any modifications or cancel it at any time. In addition, customers will be able to manage their account, including storing rental preferences and accessing past rental information or receipts.
Currently, Avis has a mobile app version for Blackberry, iPhone and Windows 7 phones. According to Avis, the Android version marks it as the first rental company in the industry to have a mobile app across four major platforms.
“Smartphone ownership and usage continues to grow and a recent comScore study ranked Android as the top smartphone platform in the United States," said Jeannine Haas, chief marketing officer for Avis Budget Group. “We're excited to add the Avis Android app to our list of mobile offerings and provide millions of Android users with a solution that specifically caters to them.”
