PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Avis Rent A Car System has launched the "Drive-In With Avis" booking sweepstakes for U.S. travel agents who use the Sabre global distribution system (GDS).
The grand-prize winner will get to select a vacation for two from a choice of three Wyndham resorts: The Boulders in Carefree, Ariz.; Wyndham Palace in Orlando, Fla.; or Wyndham Peaks in Southwest, Colo.
The contest runs through the end of this year. Monthly $25 gift certificates will be awarded to 50 agents in October, November and December. The owner-manager of the agency will also win a matching grand prize.
The contest is expected to generate additional exposure of Avis as a participant in "Sabre Total Pricing." Agents who book through Sabre can now see the approximate total price, which includes all rates, taxes, fees and surcharges. Each Avis booking made through Sabre gives a agent one entry into the sweepstakes. Bookings that include a Saturday night stay-over give an agent two entries.
"We're pleased to announce the launch of "Drive-In with Avis," said Gerard Quirk, vice president of global travel sales and marketing. "It's a great program that can reward travel professionals who work with Avis."
