PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Avis customers can save money when they head for ski country this winter by taking advantage of the Avis Ski Saver Package. The package offers 20% off on weekend and weekly rentals through April 30, 2002, and includes some attractive freebies.

The Avis Ski Saver package includes a free ski rack rental, a free one-year subscription to "Ski" or "Skiing" magazines and, as with all local Avis rentals, free unlimited mileage.

The 20% reduction is available on any vehicle rented, although it should be noted that ski racks do not fit on subcompact cars. Avis features fully equipped vehicles for winter conditions and offers emergency roadside assistance.

"The Ski Saver Package is another way Avis is helping people follow through on their travel plans and enjoy their winter holidays," said Scott Deaver, executive vice president of marketing for Avis.

The offer is available at participating Avis airport locations in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. In Canada, it is available at participating airport locations in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

Both weekend and weekly rentals (i.e. for a minimum of five days) require a Saturday night overstay.

An advance reservation is required and vehicles are subject to availability.
