Avis Singapore Launches Mobile Website
Singapore customers will now be able to book Avis rental cars directly from their smartphones.
Avis confirmed the launch of a mobile website for its Singapore market, according to Breaking Travel News on Feb. 22. Following an increase in direct bookings through the Avis Singapore website in 2011, the mobile site provides another outlet for customers, allowing them to search for car rental quotes and book directly from their smartphones as well.
The site is a replica of the existing Avis Singapore website, but has been simplified for faster booking and gives customers the ability to check and alter existing bookings. Customers will also be able to add the site to their homepage and search for the nearest branch, a calendar view, pricing options, service details, quick checkout, and reservation checking and modifying.
“Online trends show how the mobile channel has evolved into a strong and effective sales distribution alternative, particularly for Singapore, which is one of the largest mobile phone communities in the world,” said Joerg Kossich, general manager of Avis Singapore and Asia business development.
