Bandago, a passenger van rental service, has promoted TJ Sammut to chief operating officer (COO) to lead the company's operational strategies and initiatives and oversee all aspects of daily operations and human resources, the company announced Aug. 17.
Sammut's career with Bandago is marked by high achievements, and a legacy of excellence:
Industry recognition: In 2014 Sammut was recognized by Auto Rental News as the Independent Car Rental Professional of the Year. His commitment to customer service stood out among nominees from across the industry and continues to inspire his colleagues.
Longstanding dedication: Sammut joined Bandago as a sales associate in 2010 and is the company's longest-tenured employee. His deep knowledge of Bandago’s customers, employees, and systems has helped Bandago create a culture of excellence.
Ascending the ranks: Sammut's journey from sales associate to COO reflects Bandago's commitment to recognizing and nurturing talent from within. His ascendancy serves as a model for all Bandago employees aspiring to contribute to the company's success.
Enhanced operational efficiency: Saummut’s strategic restructuring of the operations department introduced new management positions and regions, driving accountability and productivity. He spearheaded the modernization of the company’s payroll system, leading to new benefit programs for employees. His development of focused training sessions and rigorous department check-ins has helped reinforce company values, while improving overall performance of Bandago’s team.
"This promotion is a testament to TJ’s strong work ethic, combined with his steady and consistent leadership over many years," said Sharky Laguana, CEO and founder of Bandago Van Rental, in a news release.
"I'm honored and humbled by this opportunity," Sammut said. "Working alongside such an outstanding group of professionals is a true blessing. I want to express my gratitude to the team for their support and continued commitment to elevating the Bandago experience for our customers."
