Blancfleet Launches Crowdfunding Platform
In order to reduce car rental rates, Blancfleet Inc., a New York-based luxury rental car service, uses the crowdfunding method to raise capital.
Blancfleet Inc., a New York-based luxury rental car service, has launched a crowdfunding platform to compete with Hertz's Dream Cars service.
In order to reduce car rental rates, Blancfleet uses the crowd-funding method to raise capital. For example, Blancfleet is currently offering a 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo at $535 per day versus $1,200 per day at Hertz. Because Blancfleet vehicles are not financed by banks, car rental rates can be cut in half, says the company.
When a campaign to buy a new vehicle is successful, members can reserve the car immediately after the vehicle's delivery — on average for two weeks. Blancfleet covers the car's maintenance, storage and handling cost until the last reservation is fulfilled, says the company.
Blancfleet's current fleet includes a Mercedes S550, Tesla Model S, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes G550, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes SLS AMG, Porsche 911 and a Nissan GT-R X.
Blancfleet just launched in New York and has plans to launch in other states soon.
