Bristol Launches Enterprise Car-Sharing Program

In efforts to reduce parking and traffic congestion and carbon dioxide emissions, Bristol City Council in Bristol, England, has launched the Enterprise CarShare program for its employees, according to an article from Fleet World.
The service is designed for employees who make frequent short trips in and around Bristol as part of their work commute. By promoting alternative forms of commuter and inter-office travel, the council hopes to reduce congestion in the city and remove staff parking from office locations when possible, says the report.
Five fuel-efficient cars are available for approximately 160 employees, according to the report. So far, 95 employees have been issued with passwords to the online Enterprise CarShare booking system and given the swipe cards necessary to lock and unlock the cars.
