Business Travel Spending in China Set to Increase in 2012
A report released by the Global Business Travel Association predicts a 17% increase in business travel spending in China this year.
According to Business Traveller-Asia Pacific, China’s business travel spending should jump 17% to $202 billion in 2012. The prediction is based off the results from the Global Business Travel Association’s (GBTA) Business Travel Outlook report, available to GBTA members.
The report also expects business travel spending to increase by 21% to $245 billion and international outbound travel spending to increase by 27% in 2013.
Tony Tyler, director general and chief executive of International Air Transport Association, said China is investing in infrastructure in order to remove any potential threats to the growing numbers in travel spending. Therefore, more airports will be added throughout the country to ease traffic from incoming travelers.
